On Thursday March 12, the editorial staff of USA Armenian Life Magazine received a letter from Mr. Bob Wells from Glendale Town -Top Advisory 2020. Mr. Wells wrote: “It is our pleasure to inform you that USA Armenian Life Magazine has been selected for the 2020 Best of Glendale Awards in the category of Magazines. Upon receipt of the great news, USA Armenian Life Magazine’s Founding Managing Editor and Executive Publisher Appo Jabarian thanked the officials at Glendale Town -Top Advisory 2020 and stated that several individuals in the community deserve the lion’s share of credit for this collective achievement!”
He added: “I should especially thank all the reader-subscribers, advertisers, sponsors, activists, writers/contributors, organizations, and literally thousands of volunteers who keep our community active and together.”
He concluded: “The twin publications USA Armenian Life Magazine and Hye Kiank Armenian Weekly, as well as armenianlife.com and USA Armenian Life Facebook Page jointly constitute a community-wide ongoing project to maintain Free Press. The independent and non-partisan news organization is stronger because of unrelenting support and participation by the community.”
During the last several months, as a direct result of its sustained new editorial article series investigating corruption and nepotism within faith-based and community-based Armenian organizations, hundreds of new subscribers joined many other thousands of readers. Since their inceptions in 1985, the twin publications USA Armenian Life Magazine and Hye Kiank Armenian Weekly, as well as armenianlife.com and USA Armenian Life Facebook Page have been actively reporting on newsworthy Armenian and international developments in America, Diaspora and Armenia.
In late 2019, Keghart.com editorial staff led by Dr. Dikran Aprahamian, MD of Toronto, Canada, had named Appo Jabarian as a “Hero for 2019.”
In mid-2019, Jabarian was a featured speaker at the World Armenian Media Conference organized by His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of The Great House of Cilcia. The conference participants featured many media outlets from United states, France, England, Middle East, Armenia, Artsakh, Eastern Europe and Russia. Among the participants were Edmond Azadian of Ramgavar Party organ The Armenian Mirror Spectator, Hagop Vartivarian of Ramgavar Party’s Baikar Daily, Ramgavar Party’s Zartonk Daily of Lebanon, Apo Boghigian of Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Asbarez, S.D.
