The statue of Armenian composer and musicologist Komitas has been vandalized in Paris, the Armenian Embassy reported on its Facebook page on Monday. The statue, which is located near the Armenian Genocide Monument in central part of the city, was sprayed painted with an inscription reading’It is false.’

“The Armenian Embassy strongly condemns the desecration of Komitas Vardapet statue which is an expression of denialism to a monument dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide as well as to those Armenians who fell for France,” the Embassy said.
