Armenia’s caretaker FM holds phone call with his French counterpart

Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aivazian on Sunday held a telephone conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
The conversation focused on the situation in Armenia’s border regions following the incursion of the Azerbaijani military into Armenian territory and the steps being taken to ease the tensions. In this regard, Aivazian highly appreciated France’s principled position on the inadmissibility of Azerbaijan’s encroachments on the sovereign territory of Armenia.
The officials also reflected on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, highlighting the active role of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
Both sides stressed the need to take measures to ensure regional stability and security.
