Former IBF, WBO world champion Arthur Abraham nominated to be presented at International Boxing Hall of Fame

YEREVAN, ARMENPRESS. Retired Armenian-German professional boxer Arthur Abraham has been nominated to be presented at the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, New York, USA.
Abraham’s former promoter Wilfried Sauerland said that Artur Abraham has great chances to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
“We are very happy for Artur’s nomination. I think he has very big changes to be inducted. His closest opponent is Michael Nunn who has also been nominated. I will wait for Artur’s victory with my fingers crossed”, the German boxing promoter said.
The International Boxing Hall of Fame released the 2023 election ballots to an international panel of voters on October 1st.
Members of the Boxing Writers Association of America and a worldwide panel of boxing historians cast votes. Voters from Japan, England, Canada, Argentina, Australia, The Netherlands, Germany, Mexico and the United States are among those who will participate in the election process.
The Class of 2023 will be honored during the Hall of Fame Induction Weekend on June 8-11, 2023 in “Boxing’s Hometown.”
Arthur Abraham, born Avetik Abrahamyan, held multiple world championships in two weight classes, including the IBF middleweight title from 2005 to 2009, and the WBO super-middleweight title twice between 2012 and 2016.
