Armenia’s Mayis Nersesyan wins gold at European Sambo Championships

Mayis Nersesyan of Armenia clinched a gold medal at the European Sambo Championships being held in Novi Sad, Serbia from May 9 to 12.
He took a crushing 11-0 victory over Yauhen Mikhno of Belarus in the men’s 64 kg combat sambo final on Friday.
Armenia’s Srbuhi Hovakimyan took a bronze medal in the 59 kg category of the women’s combat sambo.
Armenian sambists had earned five medals, including three silver and two bronze, on the first day of the European Sambo Championships.
