Elina Avanesyan applied for Armenian citizenship

Elina Avanesyan has applied for Armenian citizenship. Executive Director and Secretary General of the Armenian Tennis Federation Gevorg Karamanukyan told NEWS.am Sport correspondent, commenting on the information that the Russian tennis player will represent Armenia.
“The Federation is aware of this. We know that Elina has submitted documents to obtain an Armenian passport. There is no other official information at the moment,” Gevorg Karamanukyan said.
21-year-old Elina Avanesyan is ranked 78th in the WTA rankings.
