The President of the Gymnastics Federation of Armenia, Gagik Vanoyan, thanked the head coach of the Armenian gymnastics team, Hakob Serobyan, for his great work.
“Hakob Serobyan, a man, thanks to whom spring came with a flower in our sports, thanks to whom gymnastics experienced a renaissance in the country. Dear coach, dear friend. Jacob, you did this silently, overcoming many difficulties. You went after your goal. You never showed anyone how difficult it was for you because, for many years, you managed to solve many problems you faced quietly. And the goals that you have been put in front of you, no one except you believed in their implementation.
It was impossible to believe that such days would come for our sport when the Olympic silver medal would make us sad for a moment; for a moment, all of us, all Armenians of the world, would feel a moment of disappointment. This is the evidence that once glorious Armenian gymnastics is reborn. Live is experiencing a revival thanks to you, and yes, you were one crucial person who believed in realizing all this.
Comrade Hakob, I know what faith you have in God. You had a mighty mission to build our sport and bring back the former glory of Armenian gymnastics, and you did it. I am sure that under your leadership, we will still celebrate glorious victories,” Vanoyan wrote on his Facebook page.
To remind you, gymnast Artur Davtyan won a silver medal at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris, and Vahagn Davtyan took 6th place in the finals of the Olympic tournament’s rings exercise.
It should be noted that the athletes will arrive in Armenia tomorrow at 21:30.
