Yerevan, the champions of Armenia, won their first match in the preliminary
round of the UEFA Futsal Champions League qualifiers.
In the first match of the Group D tournament being held in Manchester, Yerevan won 3-2 over England’s Manchester Futsal.
Rafik Melikyan scored a brace for Yerevan, and Artur Patatyan netted the other goal of the Armenian club.
Yerevan will play their second match in the group stage on Friday against the Tigers Roermond, the futsal champion of the Netherlands.
In the other match of Group D, the champions of the Netherlands defeated the titleholders of Turkey, Sisli, with a score of 4-1.
