5 ARMENIAN ATHLETES — 4 FROM ARMENIA, ONE FROM BAHRAIN WIN MEDALS

The 33rd Summer Olympic Games for the Armenian Olympic team are over. 

On August 4, gymnast Artur Davtyan won Armenia’s first medal, becoming a silver medalist. 

On August 7, Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Aleksanyan (97 kg) lost to Iranian athlete Mohammadhadhi Saravi in the finals of the Olympic Games, becoming the runner-up. 

On August 7, 77 kg Greco-Roman wrestler Malkhas Amoyan defeated Uzbekistan’s Aram Vardanyan with a score of 6:5 and won a bronze medal. 

Super heavyweight Varazdat Lalayan, who competed on August 10, won a silver medal. 

Armenian-Born Weightlifter Gor Minasyan won Bronze for Bahrain at Paris Olympics. Gor Minasyan, a weightlifter with roots in Armenia, earned the bronze medal for Bahrain in the super heavyweight category at the Paris Olympics.
