Armenia’s foreign trade in January-May 2021 grows by 11.6% to $2,860.7 million

YEREVAN, June 25. /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade turnover in January-May 2021 amounted to $2,860.7 million, which is 11.6% higher than in the same period in 2020, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) said today.
It said in May 2021, compared to May 2020, the foreign trade was up 35.3%, and compared to April 2021 – 3.9%. In Armenian drams the foreign trade in the first five months of 2021 was worth about 1.5 trillion.Armenian exports, compared to January-May 2020, increased by 20.8% to about $1.1 billion. In May 2021, compared to May 2020, they increased by 36.7%, and compared to April 2021 – by 7.9%. In dram equivalent, exports amounted to 567.4 billion drams.Imports in the reporting period amounted to about $1.8 billion, recording an increase of 6.7% compared to January-May 2020. In May 2021, compared to May 2020, imports increased by 34.5%, and compared to April 2021 – by 1.5%. In AMD equivalent, imports in January-May 2021 amounted to 931.8 billion drams.
