His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, met with the president of Christian Solidarity International Dr. John Eibner on Saturday. The Catholicos, who is on a pontifical visit to the Western Prelacy, took the opportunity to discuss CSI’s important mission with Dr. Eibner, who was in Los Angeles to attend the Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region’s annual banquet, where he also was honored. During the meeting, Dr. Eibner briefed the Catholicos on the organization’s ongoing efforts in Armenia and Artsakh, particularly regarding Armenian prisoners unlawfully detained in Baku, as well as the assistance provided to Christian communities in Syria and Iraq. The Catholicos shared his perspectives on these critical issues and expressed his appreciation for CSI’s work, underscoring the urgent need for the release of Armenian prisoners in Baku. Dr. Eibner also announced his plans to visit the Cilician Catholicosate in Antelias, Lebanon, in the near future for more in-depth consultations with His Holiness on these matters. Also attending the meeting were ANCA-WR chair Oshin Harootoonian, board member Kevork Hagopjian and the organization’s community coordinator Garen Jinbashian.
