YEREVAN — On November 7, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received the delegation of the Armenia–Saudi Arabia Friendship Group, headed by group leader Ali bin Mohammad Al-Shahrani. In his remarks, Minister Mirzoyan stated: “Exactly two years ago, in November 2023, we established diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was more than just a formal step — it laid the foundation for a warm and friendly partnership.” Welcoming the visit, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia attaches great importance to fully realizing the potential of cooperation in all areas of mutual inter- est. Ali bin Mohammad Al-Shahrani expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to the delegation during their first official visit from Saudi Arabia to Armenia, expressing confidence that it will contribute to strengthening cooperation and friendship between the two countries. The sides highlighted their mutual interest in implementing joint initiatives, Including promoting people-to-people exchanges and tourism, fostering business ties, and expanding cooperation in information technologies and other sectors. During the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on regional developments. Minister Mirzoyan noted that the Armenian side highly values Saudi Arabia’s supportive position regarding the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
