Armenia will host the European Senior Shooting Championship for the first time, marking a historic milestone for the country’s sports sector. The opening cer- emony is scheduled for February 27, with competitions starting on March 1. The event will bring together delegations from 40 countries, including around 450 athletes and coaches, as well as 150 officials. A total of 70 medal sets will be contested. Speaking ahead of the championship, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan described it as a major achievement, highlight- ing extensive preparations coordinated by an interagency commission. Around 500 million drams have been allocated for the event, including the purchase of modern equipment that will later support the development of local infrastructure. Andreasyan expressed confidence in the Armenian team, which will compete in nearly all disciplines, and encouraged public attendance. Armenian Shooting Federation President Artur Hovhannisyan said the team is fully prepared, while head coach Seyran Nikoghosyan voiced optimism about winning multiple medals, noting the team is in strong form. The championship will be held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex, with delegations arriving on February 26–27.
