YEREVAN, ARMENPRESS. At the invitation of the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev paid a visit to Armenia on August 12-13.
As ARMENPRESS was informed from the press service of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan and Nikolai Patrushev met to discuss a large array of security issues on August 12. In particular, the parties exchanged opinions on the development of the Armenian-Russian strategic relations, the expansion of cooperation within the framework of the CSTO and the use of new opportunities. The issue of regulating armaments sales to third countries was also discussed.
The parties expressed satisfaction regarding the current state of affairs in military-technical and military-economic cooperation within the framework of the allied partnership between Armenia and Russia highlighted the importance of intensifying cooperation in the field of military industry and the need to establish new enterprises.
During the visit, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received Nikolay Patrushev. Armen Grigoryan and Nikolay Patrushev laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Prior to the meeting of the Secretaries of Security Councils of Armenia and Russia, the representatives of the Office of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia and the staff of the Security Council of the Russian Federation also held consultations.
