Team Armenia’s Woman Grandmaster Lilit Mkrtchian made a winning start at the FIDE Women’s World Cup 2025 that has kicked off in Batumi, Georgia.
In the first classical game of her match against International Master Lina Nasr (Algeria), Mkrtchyan won on the 71st move.
As reported earlier Team Armenia’s leader, Grandmaster Elina Danielian, also made a winning start in this knockout tournament, as she beat FIDE Master Nadezhda Antonova (Tajikistan) in the first classical game of the first round.
The second classical games of the first round will be played on Monday.
