YEREVAN. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan asserts that the language used by the President of Azerbaijan “is not understood by us within the framework of the Washington agreements.” During his address at the SCO+ summit in Tianjin (China) on Monday, Pashinyan highlighted that the Declaration of Peace signed with the President of Azerbaijan on August 8 in Washington, with the backing of US President Donald Trump, and the initialing of the Agreement on Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, have established a foundation for “peace.” “We are presently engaged in discussions regarding the opening of transport links between our two nations, grounded in the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction. These initiatives will facilitate seamless communication between the main territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic via the territory of the Republic of Armenia, which will be mutually advantageous for the Republic of Armenia in both international and domestic transport,” Pashinyan remarked. He emphasized that the Declaration ratified by the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan also reached consensus on specific terminology, the application of which “will foster a constructive environment and the execution of subsequent efforts.” “I wish to inform our partners that, specifically, the terminology employed by the President of Azerbaijan is not interpreted by us in the context we agreed upon in Washington, particularly since, under these agreements, Armenia and the United States are executing a program of investments in the communications sector known as the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP). This initiative is founded on the Armenian Crossroads of Peace project,” Pashinyan stated. The Armenian Prime Minister reaffirmed Yerevan’s commitment to the agreements established and expressed determination to implement these accords promptly. Consequently, communications between Armenia and Azerbaijan will not only be established for domestic, bilateral, and international traffic, but will also generate new logistical opportunities for all member nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, including Armenia and Azerbaijan’s nearest neighbors,” he concluded.
