GLENDALE / LOS ANGELES, CA – Carousel Restaurant is marking 40 years in Los Angeles with a renovation at its Glendale location that feels less like a reveal and more like a natural pro- gression. The kind that happens when a place has been lived in long enough to know exactly what needs attention and what should never be touched. “The priority was to maintain that lived-in, no-fuss sense of ease,” said owner Ro- salie Tcholakian. Carousel’s longevity is tied to con- sistency. The menu has remained rooted in the same approach to Middle Eastern cooking, and the atmosphere has always been built around how people actually dine there. Groups arrive together, order for the table, and stay. That pattern has held for four decades. Over the years, Carousel has devel- oped a wide following across Los Ange- les. Locals return regularly, and visitors are often brought in by friends who treat it as a reliable point of reference. The restaurant has also become a familiar stop for athletes, entertainers, and industry regulars, drawn by the food and the fact that the room never changes its tone for anyone. The room still feels the way it always has, gradu- ally and all at once. “Our focus has always been the food, and everything we serve is made in-house from scratch,” said owner Mi- hran Tcholakian. “We’re very specific about how it’s prepared, and that con- sistency is something we don’t plan on changing.” After four decades, Carousel’s role has stayed largely the same. It remains a place built around groups, familiarity, and repeat visits.
