YEREVAN — On Septem- ber 23, ahead of the opening of the 23rd Convention of the Social Democrat Hunchaki- an Party (SDHP), delegates who had arrived in Armenia from various countries vis- ited the Yerablur Military Pantheon to pay tribute to the Armenians who sacri- ficed their lives in defense of the homeland. A wreath was laid at the memorial on behalf of the delegation, after which SDHP Central Committee Chairman Hambik Sarafian delivered remarks. Sarafian emphasized that Yerablur is not only a place of remembrance and rever- ence, but also a sacred place of responsibility and com- mitment. He noted that the memory of those who gave their lives for the homeland obliges everyone to place the interests of the homeland and the Armenian people above all other consider- ations. At the conclusion of the visit, the delegates renewed their pledge to serve the homeland and the Armenian people by singing “Ukhti Yerg” (“Song of the Oath”).
