This 2016 presidential campaign season has been contentious yet quite enlightening for voters.

Scandalous campaign events have help concerned citizens recognize the troubling reality of being led – rather misled, by a corrupt establishment in Washington DC.

Citizens have also realized that U.S. and much of the world have become more dangerous places than they were eight years ago.

As many longtime readers of USA Armenian Life Magazine are aware, I have a long established record for unflinching editorial opposition to illegal wars conducted by any nation, including neo-con-controlled U.S. administrations.

As a writer and commentator I am proud to have been guided by the principle of opposing nation-to-nation bullying. This begs the question: “From the field of presidential candidates, who supports and who opposes such misguided foreign policy objectives?”

Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton who served as the 67th U.S.  Secretary of State, under President Barack Obama, from 2009 to 2013, has unleashed a series of illegal proxy-wars ‘employing’ ISIS and Al-Qaeda terrorists and has actively engaged in bullying on international scale.

Republican Presidential Candidate Donald J. Trump has been an outspoken critic and a strong opponent of ISIS and mindless widespread destruction in Middle East and especially Syria.

Many other presidential campaign issues and positions by each of the candidates have created a stark difference between Trump and Clinton.

On the issue of comiption and rigged systems of economy and federal government, former Secretary Clinton has been a decades-old fixture in Washington DC, whereas Mr. Trump a clear outsider who has empowered his supporters to embark on a promising all-American reform movement.

Win or lose, Mr. Trump will continue to be widely recognized as the engineer of this new American awakening!

There was a time when I felt proud of supporting former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary Clinton. As a result of their misguided actions, both have lost me as a supporter.

As a former supporter of Mrs. Clinton, I am saddened to report my utmost disappointment in her performance as a leading architect of U.S. foreign policy.

Who’s going to be held accountable for the countless crimes committed against humanity by U.S.-backed proxy-invader criminals labeled as ‘rebels’ in Syria?

How long more the neo-cons in the United States are going to be allowed to manipulate the spiritually illiterate within various religions into crimes against coreligionists and long established civilizations in various parts of the world and especially Iraq and Syria?

As U.S. Secretary of State, it was under her watch that many peace-loving communities and minorities were destroyed throughout Syria.

Under the cover of the so-called ‘Arab Spring’ she supported the so-called rebels in Syria who proved to be anything but moderate rebels.

In stark contrast to Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Trump has made it amply clear his categorical opposition to Obama-Clinton duo’s bankrupt U.S. foreign policy in Syria.

Even though there are some issues on which I am in disagreement with Mr. Trump, he must be credited for spear heading a new movement in America that seems to have long-range stamina.

Tothe astonishment of millions ofAmericans, these Clinton backed ISIS and Al-Qaeda branch Nusra extremist terrorists have inflicted widespread death and destruction causing the loss of hundreds of thousands of innocent lives from among peaceful Muslims and Christians alike.

Sadly, as many Armenian Americans are aware, Armenian Syrians and Armenian Iraqis are among many minority communities that suffered immense human, cultural, religious and material losses.

During Mrs. Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State and thanks to covert support by herself and her cohorts’ in U.S Congress and the White House, extremist terrorists committed several acts of crime against Armenians (in Armenian municipality of Kessab, Syria and Aleppo, Syria regions), and many other minorities such as the Yezidis, fellow Sunni and Shia Muslims, Kurds, Assyrians, Chaldeans and Syriacs. These minority communities have been living peacefully side by side for several centuries.

Thanks to enablers like Mrs. Clinton the U.S.- based neo-cons have taken over the US establishment squandering away the global American prestige and goodwill around the world.

It took decades of wise U.S. foreign policy planning to buildAmerica’s prestige abroad. But it took only few short years of reckless U.S. foreign policy to destroy it. Former Sec. Clinton and her neo-cons backers have managed to do just that!

In a recent Mirror-Spectator article titled“Governor Dukakis Still Passionate about Politics,”Aram Arkun wrote that former Massachusetts Governor and 1988 Democratic presidential nominee Michael S. Dukakis “reds that the US relationship with Russia and China are two of the most important relationships this country has.”

Reportedly Dukakis also criticizedAmerican foreign policy, in the Middle East, especially in Syria. Concerning “the efforts to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad,” Dukakis said that from the start, “the ingredients of disaster were obvious.”

The American neo-cons played an important role in this, he noted. “I think the neo cons, though badly delusionary in my opinion, think that we can transform the world into a democratic paradise within a relatively short period of time. Either   they never read history or don’t understand what is going on in is the Middle East.”

I think it’s much worse than Gov. Dukakis’ political diagno sis of the neo-con brand of U.S. foreign policy in Middle East. The neo-cons in both political parties’ establishment have taken American exceptionalism too far — so much so that their brand of arrogance has now been compounded by counter-productive political and military bullyism on an international scale.

Back in the 1960’s and up until mid ‘70’s, when walking into a Middle Eastern household — Muslim and Christian, one would see a portrait of a U.S. President prominently displayed in living and dining rooms. U.S. prestige was soaring at that time. But now, in 2010’s not only the portrait photos of American leaders are gone but the Middle East street has resorted to burning U.S. flags!

The U.S. neo-con political philosophy is such that any for eign sovereign state that refuses to submit to monopolistic conditionality of U.S. neo-cons is doomed to be subjected to all sorts of overt and covert acts by Obama-Clinton duo’s political machine. A clear case in point is Syria and its president Bashar al-Assad.

Gone are the days when during the short-lived post-soviet vacuum, our planet had become a uni-polar world. Now with the re-emergence of post-soviet Russia and its leadership of a new international alliance ofB.R.I.C.S. — Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, the world has shifted to being multi polar creating a much healthier political environment for humanity as a whole provided that all major powers revert to political realism.

To his credit Mr. Trump understands that and it is hopeful he continues to surround himself with wise and prudent foreign policy advisers so the these great United States usher in a new promising era of global peacetime rather than wartime economics.

These are very trying times et exciting time for America. We, the voters have a major say   the development of productive domestic and foreign policy. Let’s exercise our right to participate in the decision-making process by casting our votes.

I believe a vote in favor of Mr. Trump will be a vote to make America Great Again and uplift the set of values in our society on a local and global level.
