Carpet production grows strongly in Armenia

Armenia saw a strong growth in production of carpets and carpet coverings in the first seven months of 2019, the latest statistics reveal.
The country manufactured a total of 22.8 tons of carpets and carpet coverings from January to July this year, up by 1.7 times from the same period last year, when 13.8 tons of carpets were produced, Panorama.am learned from the Statistical Committee.
A total of 26.3 tons of carpets and carpet coverings were manufactured in the country last year, securing a 32.8% growth against the previous year.
Meanwhile, Armenia produced 18 tons of carpets in 2016 and 41 tons in 2015.
