On Oct. 23, 2020, USA Armenian Life Magazine, Managing Editor Appo Jabarian wrote a letter to Honorable Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. In his letter Appo Jabarian noted: “Like many deeply concerned American Armenians I’ve been following the developments in Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh)…. I’ve also watched and read your plea for a response from America and its official foreign and defense policy establishment to rush to Armenia’s and Artsakh’s aid.
“It my duty to be brutally honest and amply clear that officialdom Washington is taken over by neoconservative and neoliberal elements that are by nature anti-everything Armenian!!! So please save your breath and save the numerous young and all lives and look for your solution on regional level.
“It is the understanding of Diaspora in general that Armenia has a mutual defense agreement with Russia!
Having said the above, I’d like to relay to you on behalf of tens of thousands of American Armenians, and to urge you and do the right thing for Armenia: OFFICIALLY Activate Republic of Armenia’s request from The Russian Federation to fulfill its obligation under a mutual defense agreement and protect Armenia against Turkish onslaught.
Of course, Armenian Diaspora, more specifically American Armenians should continue doing everything in its power to help Armenia defend itself against genocidal Turkey. But that’s no enough, Mr. Prime Minister Pashinyan. I plead with you to discontinue to have any wishful expectations from United States. Pres. Trump still need 4 more years to clean the swamp. As we’re speaking America is fighting an existential internal war of its own. Armenia should find other means to defend herself and bring its archenemies Turkey and Seljuk-Turkish Azerbaijan down to their knees.
Most respectfully,
Appo K. Jabarian
