Nuriyev bases his prediction on sheer fantasy, not realistic facts. In that sense he’s surely bombastic.
In the long term however, certainly not in 2021, there will be some sort of political upheaval. Aliyev will not live forever. Presidents for life are not sustainable.
Via the pretextual title of President, these pseudo “Presidents” crown themselves King for life. (Takavor i.e. a cacavor!)
The countries in which Presidents for life survive are, North Korea which has a piss-poor 3rd or 4th world economy, piss-poor African countries with similar economies. Even Egypt’s economy is weak. And Turkey’s economy is downhill due to Erdogan. All ruled by despots, who use fear, the gun, and whimsy imprisonment. Eventually, they disappear, as did Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin. Erdogan and his puppet Aliyev will someday join them.
Azerbaijan is a wealthy country due to its oil fortunes. Eventually, the people will get restive, and they will want, and they will take, their share of the pie. The people will not continue to accept living with fear, the gun at their head, and whimsy imprisonment.
This will hold true: “You can fool some of the people some of the time. But you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.” Especially when the people become better educated and their mind opened to the rest of the world. It’s occurring in increasing numbers in Turkey. It’s taking root in Azerbaijan.
Armenians were a force in the USSR. Hayastan was a Hi-Tech center. The first Soviet Atom bomb was created in Armenia. Armenian physicists reigned. Mikoyan’s world class aircraft equipped the USSR Air Force. At least 40 or more Armenian Field Marshals, Generals, Admirals, served the USSR in WW-2. Armenag Khanamerian forged the USSR Air Force into the formidable force that it became. The Azeri’s were a complete zero in all categories.
Armenia has gone from this esteemed high, to a weak country, humiliatingly dependent on the charitable lip service, if even that, of other countries, — notably Russia, plus others.
Instead of building on what they inherited from the USSR, these corrupt leaders idiotically dismantled Hayastan’s inheritance, — and drunk with this windfall, they filled their pockets. Now another election. NONE of them can ever be trusted to put THEIR country first. All of these Bastards are responsible for losing 2020’s 44-day war to Turkey/Azerbaijan.
Their corrupt mentality is both medieval and USSR dictatorial. As Harut Sassounian wrote in a recent article that his experience with Hayastan officials is that they either refuse to listen, or it’s into one ear and out the other. They know everything, but the reality is they know zero. They convince themselves that they’ve been exposed to, have experienced, and are now legitimate members of the modern world. Not true. These sponges have totally absorbed the USSR mentality, and are still contaminated by it.
These officials are akin to this stance, — dictatorial, — and typically devoid of all reason:
“I’m the father of this home, and you’ll damn well do as I say.” The high amount of violence against women in Hayastan is a manifestation of this idiocy.
Armenians, and Hayastan, MUST do a Hell of a lot better. If not, what remains of Hayastan will be lost forever, — NEVER to be regained.
