In early July, a Vatican judge indicted 10 people, including a once-powerful cardinal, on charges including embezzlement, abuse of office, extortion and fraud in connection with a 350 million-euro ($415million) investment in a London real estate venture.
The president of the Vatican’s criminal tribunal, Giuseppe Pignatone, set July 27 as the trial date, according to a Vatican press statement issued on July 2.
The indictments were handed down following a mushrooming, two-year investigation into how the Secretariat of State managed its vast asset portfolio, much of which is funded by the Peter’s Pence donations from the faithful. The scandal has resulted in a sharp reduction in donations to the Roman Catholic Church.
Is the Armenian Apostolic Church guided by the spirit of the Rule of Law similar to the Vatican?
Under the Vatican’s functioning Rule of Law, an investigation into the financial scandal zeroed in on a top-ranking cardinal. Because of the sound criminal justice system at the Holy Vatican the cardinal was sacked and forced into resignation.
But under Catholicos Karekin II the usurper of Armenian Church’s Holy See of Etchmiadzin, the numerous culprits in the Armenian church remain unpunished because the perpetrators of nefarious activities are also the ‘administrators’ of Justice. A blatant conflict of interests?
Let’s take a look.
Archbishop Hovnan Derderian of Western Diocese, Pastor Manouk Markarian and pastor’s son Harout Markarian Executive Director of Western Diocese are the culprits/perpetrators of numerous nefarious activities while at the same time being the top day-to-day governors of the Diocese. Many members of the Diocese and the community at large continue to flood USA Armenian Life Magazine’s editorial offices’ telephone lines with lamentations and valid questions such as “How can we expect enforcement of accountability and transparency when both the wrongdoers and enforcers of the Rule of Law are the same people!”
How did the Armenian Apostolic Church reach this state?
During the Bolshevik era, in order to destroy the Armenian Church, the Soviet KGB flooded the Church with criminals like Karekin II, and other blatant violators of religion covenant such as Hovnan Derderian, who misrepresented themselves as pious priests.
Under KGB pressure, the Mother See also ‘embraced’ those rejected by the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia. One such rejected was the Archbishop of the Western Diocese Hovnan Derderian, who was caught committing illegal sexual acts in violation of his religious cows for lifetime celibate priesthood. Another reject was an archbishop who lost the title of “srpazan” (Holiest) but took over the title of “Sourp Kazan” (“holy beast”). Since the occupation of the Holy See by Karekin II, during the past two decades and with the complicity of several spineless or corrupted lay people acting blind, mute and deaf, these fake clergymen’s clan created a global monopoly and mini dictatorships within various dioceses of the Diaspora, including in the Western Diocese, the Russia Diocese, the Canada Diocese, and others.
Large numbers of American Armenians, Canadian Armenians, French Armenians, and Russian Armenians insist, “The Karekin-Hovnan-Yzras mafia must collapse sooner rather than later in order to save the Armenian Church while The People hold all criminally-inclined clergy and lay leaders accountable for their many acts of crime.
The Republic of Armenia is obligated to protect the right of the lay members of the Armenian Church to bring the Armenian Church under their complete control and to form an intra-church judicial body in order to dethrone all corrupted religious and lay leaders of the Armenian Church who have violated the Church By-Laws.
1) Examples of religious offenders: Catholicos Karekin II, Archbishop Yezras of Moscow, Hovnan Derderian of Los Angeles and Arch. Navasard Kjoyan of the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese who are complicit in many crimes.

And AGBU’s Sinan Sinanian.
Accusations that have been persistent:
A) Many of them are accused of embezzlement or shock of hundreds of millions of dollars in Armenia and the Diaspora;
B) There have been direct or indirect accomplices in child molestation in Armenia and the Diaspora;
C) Kidnapping of newborn Armenian babies in Armenia and Artsakh, international “trafficking” and sales in black markets;
D) Illegal embezzlement of millions of dollars earmarked for the reconstruction of the earthquake zone of Armenia;
Many Armenians are asking: “For so many years, Why Karekin II, Hovnan Derderian, Yezras of Moscow have not addressed these issues in public to clarify, confirm or refute these grave accusations?”
A senior leader in the Western Diocese told USA Armenian Life: “The sunrise is approaching and the moment will come when the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church will genuinely return to its God-pleasing origins and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin will be re-sanctified and all the parasites and the pharisees will be thrown out of all the holy Armenian Christian places. The Karekin-Hovnan Derderian-Yezras of Moscow clan’s end is imminent.”
The People have the ultimate power to seat worthy leaders and unseat shady and nefarious characters.
