In Fall 2020, Azerbaijan-Turkey-ISIS (Islamic State Terrorists) launched an unprovoked terrorist attacks against Armenians of Artsakh Republic (Nagorno Karabakh Republic). Azerbaijan-Turkey-ISIS exploited the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic and U.S. preoccupation with American presidential elections and used as political cover to execute the second and final genocide of Armenians. During WWI, Turkey used the world war as cover to perpetrate the First Genocide (1915-1923). According to numerous reports, several elements within the former kleptocracy along with Sorosite globalists in the current government actively sabotaged the Armenian military defense in Artsakh lending a treacherous ‘helping’ hand to Baku and Ankara. Armenia’s ‘staged’ military ‘defeat’ now is being exploited by Yerevan’s arch-enemies — Turkey and Azerbaijan to extract maximum concessions from the government of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. In the aftermath of the 2020 Azerbaijani and Turkish state-sponsored terrorists’ attacks, many homeland and Diaspora Armenians – fearing the return of the old regime kleptocracy’s return to power, actively urged the embattled PM Pashinyan “not to resign” in order to effectively bloc the old kleptocracy’s return to power. What was the driving force behind such reasoning by the homeland and Diaspora Armenian masses? Was the old regimes’ return to power off the table? Under normal circumstances, in a democracy, any regime that sustains military defeat is subject to resignation and replacement through elections by a new government in order to help steer the affected nation out of the quagmire of a post-war low moral. However, in the case of Armenia, the dictates of political realities on the ground temporarily bar such a choice, because the Armenian civil society has found itself stuck between the defeated Pashinyan government and the old regime kleptocracy. Such a choice would be unacceptable to the huge majority of Armenians both in the Homeland and Diaspora. The writing is on the wall. The message that is being amplified loud and clear in nearly all corners of the globe dictates: ‘NO RETURN’ to the failed kleptocrat regimes of the former presidents Le- von Ter-Petrosyan (1991-1998), Robert Kocharyan (1998-2008), and Serzh Sargsyan (2008-2018). The reason that the electorate in Armenia didn’t have the benefit of considering change of elected leadership is the absence of a well-built bloc consisted of healthy patriotic forces that could lead Armenia into a new era; into an honorable phase of reconstruction. THE CURRENT PHASE:
The Pashinyan government is leading an uphill political and diplomatic battle on the international scene regarding 1) The Process of delimitation and demarcation of borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan; 2) Countering Baku’s unfair demands on providing a land corridor to run through sovereign Armenian territory connecting Azerbaijan proper with the Nakhichevan exclave; 3) Countering Ankara’s demands to officially recognize the current border between Turkey and Armenia effectively relinquishing any territorial demands arising from the illegal Turkish occupation of Eastern and Western Armenian lands; and giving up pursuit of restitution for the 1915-1923 Turkish executed Armenian Genocide, illegal confiscation of real and personal properties. Is the current opposition strengthening or weakening the current Armenian government’s hand? The opposition should be strongly opposed to any kind of historically incorrigible, and permanently damaging concessions to Turkey or Azerbaijan. Any kind of healthy opposition should abstain from serving wittingly or unwittingly the enemy’s national interests to the detriment of the Armenian Nation’s interests. No Armenian opposition should undermine the Sovereignty, Independence and Defense of the twin Armenian republics. We, in the ranks of empathetic and healthy opposition should do everything possible to shore up the political position of official Yerevan and not undermine. The current opposition led by the old kleptocracy is attempting to exploit the ‘Russia Card’ by feigning loyalty to Moscow in order to achieve their return to power any one or a combination thereof namely former presidents Ter-Petrosyan, Kocharyan, Sargsyan and their coalition partners such as Armenian Revolutionary Federation of Armenia (ARF-A). Many Diaspora-based and Armenia/Artsakhbased members and supporters of the main ARF party are disgruntled by the deeply corrupted and widely discredited former Soviet citizens who have hijacked the ARF-Armenia and are masquerading as ‘genuine’ ARF’ers. The time has come for the patriotic forces hailing from all segments of the civil society to step forward and set aside both the Sorosite and old kleptocrat wings. For the record, the recent Los Angeles- based ARF organizers held a protest rally against the ruling Civic Agreement and the Pashinyan regime. Out of 700,000 ethnic American Armenians only 75 — (yes, seventyfive) members of the community participat- ed. That’s a clear indication that the current opposition under Kocharyan-Sargsyan-ARF of Armenia have very poor standing in the American Armenian Diaspora and its epicenter Los Angeles. Armenia’s opposition should no longer be hijacked by the marginalized old regime forces. Armenia’s electorate should vote for the creation of a real opposition. Armenia needs patriotic forces both within the government and the opposition.
