On Monday Sept. 27, Los Angeles Armenians observed the second anniversary of the 2020’s 44-Day anti-Armenian aggression in Artsakh/Nagorno Karabakh by Azerbaijan-Turkey-ISIS (Islamic State) terrorists, with a 3:44 PM protest rally and a 6:44 PM Candle-Light Vigil in front of in Front of Azerbaijani Consulate in Los Angeles. The call for action was organized by a non-partisan and all-Armenian PAN-ARMENIAN NATIONAL EMERGENCY COMMITTEE.
The political activism by American Armenians and friends of Armenia was covered by three American media outlets NBC4, KTLA5 and Spectrum TV and three Armenian TV stations US Armenia, Armenia1 (Official ROA TV) and VOA (Voice of America) Armenian Dept.
While American Armenians mobilized To Protest in Front of Azerbaijani Consulate in Los Angeles, Western Diocese Primate Hovnan Derderian Lures Armenian Protesters Away to a location from the Azerbaijani Consulate. During the last 48 hours just before the events, Primate Derderian circulated a flier announcing a competing Candle-Light vigil at the Western Diocese on the same date (Sept. 27) and at the time.
One of the protesters reported that she was approached by Derderian’s cohorts not to attend the protest/candle-light vigil in front of the Azerbaijani Consulate in Los Angeles, but instead “come the St. Leon Cathedral.”
Another protester noted that “This is a pattern followed by Derderian. Arch. Derderian is notorious in organizing competing events even against Diocese’s own churches along with sister churches.”
As world Armenians were actively staging protesting rallies in diverse countries, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II was staging with the old kleptocratic regimes of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan a plot to topple the government of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
During a Sept. 29 TV interview with 1in.AM TV, the vice-president of the Christian-Democratic Party Hayk Sukiasian said. “Look at our problem, this death march must be stopped. Our main problem is internal. It is the 5th column. And this government must be careful here, and I demand the government to be vigilant about them. In the Catholicosate (in Etchmiadzin) , it turns out that there was a secretive meeting (between Karekin II and the three former presidents). As they gathered attacked Armenia. It looks like there is pattern, here.” Every time Catholicos Karekin II gathers with former regime leaders, Azerbaijan launches military aggression against Armenia.
Many people are asking, “Is Arch. Hovnan Derderian receiving directives from Baku through Karekin II, so that he would double-cross here in L.A. protest events against Azerbaijan?”
