VIENNA — The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights confirmed on April 23 that it will deploy an observation mission for Armenia’s parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7, 2026. The mission is being deployed at the invitation of Armenian authorities and follows a needs assessment con- ducted prior to the elections. A core team of 13 experts, led by Janez Lenarčič, will operate in Ye- revan. Starting May 1, 30 long-term observers will be deployed across the country, while an additional 250 short- term observers will arrive a few days before the elections. Experts and observers come from 28 OSCE member states. “This observation mission will as- sess all stages of the electoral process in line with OSCE commitments and other international standards for dem- ocratic elections. We will observe not only election day, but also the broader environment in which the elections take place,” Lenarčič stated.
