YEREVAN /ARKA/. Representatives of regulatory bodies of Armenia and Turkey discussed opportunities for further cooperation in television and radio broad-casting, the Armenian Television and Radio Commission reported.
A meeting between Commission Chairman ligran Hakobyan and Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) Deniz Güler took place on September 16 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
According to the Armenian regulator, the parties discussed current trends and challenges in the broadcasting sector, as well as a number of issues related to the activities of regulatory bodies.
During the meeting, opportunities for further development and expansion of cooperation between regulators of the two countries were discussed, including the exchange of experience and professional knowledge, intensified industry dia-logue, and interaction on initiatives of mutual interest.
The parties also noted the importance of expanding cooperation on interna-
tional and regional platforms and continuing similar meetings.
In addition, the possibility of signing a memorandum of cooperation was discussed. According to the Commission, the draft document is currently under development.
