Recently, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Ar- menia Arayik Harutyunyan posted the following comment on his Facebook page: Harut Sassounian, an increasingly irrelevant columnist in the American media field, seems to be troubled by my and Lilit Makunts’ visit to South- ern California. The reason is very clear: the monopoly of lies of the Ar- menian segment of that field was bro- ken with our visit, people started ask- ing him questions: why have you been spreading lies about the real situation in Armenia for years? He claims that we went to the Unit- ed States at the expense of taxpayers. Meanwhile, it was not difficult to open Armenian websites and find out that we were on vacation, and the visit was private, without the involvement of state agencies. Even the local consul- ate had zero involvement in organizing our visit, having learned about our visit in those days. He openly asks why we did not in- vite them to “come and do haram by holding actions” We did not allow our meetings to be spoiled, which made him even more nervous. And most im- portantly, he says that we came to the United States secretly. We made over ten public appearances – namely in- terviews to local American TV chan- nels, including non-Armenian ones: ARTN, AMGA, AABC, USARME- NIA, FOXNEWS…. And it is hard to imagine how one can be a guest on 10 programs in 6 days and remain hidden. He does not mention this fact, manipu- lating the public remaining true to his character. But I have bad news for Sassouni- an. We have decided to systematically break the monopoly of packs of lies spread by him and his cohorts in the Armenian-American community by simply presenting the facts that tell the real story on Real Armenia. Retiring with dignity is also a virtue, but Sas- sounian has decided to disgrace him- self to the end.
