YEREVAN, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian hosted Chi-Foon Chan, President and co-Chief Executive Officer of Synopsys, Chairman of Synopsys Armenia Yervant Zorian and director Hovik Musayelyan, the Presidential Office told Armenpress.
The guests introduced President Sarkissian on upcoming programs and works of the Synopsys Armenia. Chi-Foon Chan informed that he plans to visit Gyumri where they want to open Synopsys Armenia branch. It was reported that the company has already started implementing educational and training programs for the graduates of the Gyumri branch of the Armenian national polytechnic university and students of other interested universities with a view to involve them in the company in the future.
“Synopsys Armenia has registered great changes and progress in past years, very advanced projects have been developed here. Therefore we plan to expand our activity also in Gyumri”, Chi-Foon Chan said.
President Sarkissian welcomed such initiatives and wished success to the company. He said Gyumri is really a very interesting and right place for the implementation of such projects. “Gyumri is a city of arts and masters, it has very talented residents and a great development potential. We are trying to re-birth the city, and are happy that the Synopsys has started working there”, Armen Sarkissian said, adding that the preservation of Gyumri’s historical heritage is under his spotlight, and one of the presidential initiatives is dedicated to the preservation and development of the historical center of the city.
Armen Sarkissian also introduced the guests on another presidential initiative called ATOM (Advanced Tomorrow) dedicated to science and technology development in Armenia. The President added that they will be happy to cooperate with Synopsys on the sidelines of this initiative.
