The Pashinyan regime came to power riding the waves of a widespread popular revolt against the old kleptomaniacs of Armenia — namely former presidents Serzh Sargsyan, Robert Kocharyan and Levon Ter-Petrossyan.
Armenia’s 2018 Velvet Revolution toppled the hugely corrupted former regime which abused its ties with Armenia’s strategic ally Russia at the expense of both Armenia and Russia.

The former kleptocratic oligarchs and their 17 political groups + Widely discredited pontiff Karekin II have managed to drive Armenia’s armed forces and economy to the ground under a perceived Russian ‘cover.’
It was only recently uncovered that neither Kocharyan nor Sargsyan — along with their lackey Catholicos Karekin II — have had any clouts with Kremlin. However, practically all former kleptocratic regime elements succeeded in weakening Russia’s standing among world Armenians. Several Armenians have begun wondering, “Is Russia especially backing Armenia’s internal dark forces in order to destroy Armenia and Armenian Apostolic Church from within?”
And now, in the months following the 44-day Artsakh War debacle a series of unsuccessful attempts were made by the Kocharyan-controlled 17 + 1 opposition parties to force Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s unconstitutional resignation.
According to several reports, former Pres Kocharyan a few days ago secretly expressed his frustration to the top players in the oligarchic pack of 17+1 mainly Armenian Revolutionary Federation Tashnaktsutiun Armenia (ARF-D Armenia) leader Ishkhan Saghatelyan and another opposition party leader/ former chief of Armenia’s National Security Service Arthur Vanetsyan. Kocharyan angrily lamented that his allocation of $500,000 (half million dollars) to bankroll paid participants in the numerous protest rallies yielded zero results in terms of forcing Pashinyan’s resignation.
In a sign of internal cracks in the ranks of the pack of 17+1, recently a infighting erupted between ARF-D Armenia leader Saghatelyan and another opposition party leader Vanetsyan. During a blame game and a shouting match Vanetsyan has reportedly thrown a cup of hot coffee at Saghatelyan.
While wide masses among the world Armenians are not satisfied with the performance of the current Pashinyan regime, they are strongly opposed to return to power of the former kleptocratic oligarchs including Ter-Petrossyan, Kocharyan, Sargsyan and their allies.
In the aftermath of the 44-day war in 2020, several reports emerged that lackey agents among high ranking Armenian military officers of the former rulers Kocharyan and Sargsyan actively sabotaged Armenians’ war efforts by going to various war fronts and spreading false propaganda that “our soldiers should not fight for lands that Pashinyan has already sold out to Azerbaijan.” Many independent observers who are not aligned behind neither former rulers nor the current regime, believe that a treason was carried out by agents of the former rulers in the backdrop of Turko-Azeri collaboration to drive Armenians to defeat.
The embattled and corrupted Armenian pontiff Karekin II also joined the chorus of the former rulers demanding Pashinyan’s resignation. But it was to no avail. Karekin II and his fellow clansmen, his own blood brother Arch. Yezras of Moscow, Western Diocese’s Arch. Hovnan Derderian, Pastor Manouk Markaryan, his son and diocesan Exec. Director Harout Markaryan, Sinan Sinanian, Joseph Kanimian and others are deeply troubled for the unmasking of their nefarious activities.
And now, certain elements within the top leadership of the Armenian Army in a stark contrast with the huge majority of World Armenians have also joined the chorus demanding Pashinyan’s resignation.
USA Armenian Life firmly believes that Armenia’s Constitution should be upheld and the democratic system should not be undermined by means. The rule of law must be observed at all times and democratic majority should decide Armenia’s political future and no select group of oligarchs or groups should be allowed to hijack Armenia’s sovereignty.
The pro-Kocharyan flank of the military leadership along with the civil society and the current Pashinyan regime should do everything to consolidate Armenia’s internal stability in order to enable the republic to whit-stand the external military challenges and economic hardships. Any change of power should come peacefully and in an orderly fashion.
Armenia shall not be monopolized by a tiny minority. A political mandate is achieved by the will of the majority through a legal, free and fair electoral process.
Armenia’s political future should be decided by the majority of Armenians, not by the oligarchs.
Thank you, Appo Jabarian, for this factual editorial. WELL DONE. Armenians who cannot understand Armenian take note — this is truly what’s going on in Armenia. We who love our country must not become discouraged, otherwise the crooks and the enemies (within and without) will prevail. Why not give Sasna Dzrer a chance?
Please don’t blind yourself, we have the biggest traitor in Armenian history who taking Armenia directly to hell, as soon we get rid of Nikol Pashinian as soon we can do something to avoid the end our country. Remember you just taking all fake words of current loser-government for truth. Please just be realistic, thanks
Pashinyan came to power with the support of the people to clean up the oligarchs and thieves who were busy sucking the blood of the people and filling their own pockets whilst ignoring that crucial issues, such as the Artsakh issue, needed drastic and immediate solutions. Pashinyan did clean up a lot of dirt, but he too, neglected issues to do with Artsakh and with updating of our military capabilities and creating an intelligence machine that would have alerted us about the building of the military power of the enemy and their collaboration with Israel and Turkey. And now, after we lost the war, we are only talking about elections and who should be in power. No one is talking about the aftermath of this war, or of the ceasefire agreement or the future of Artsakh or the future of Armenia itself. Should those lands have been given by negotiation or at the cost of our boys blood? Pashinyan has a lot of questions to answer publicly and if there is treason those responsible should be brought to justice and punished accordingly. We have reached a stage where we are starting to doubt who exactly we are. This great people is put to the test, now more than any other time before.
