Many in Armenia have expressed concern recently that the war in Ukraine might have repercussions in Armenia and Artsakh, particularly from the point of view of the security of its population.
As if to confirm our apprehensions, a section of the gas pipeline supplying the 110 000 inhabitants of Artsakh was destroyed by an explosion on Monday, March 7. This is a serious problem, as nighttime temperatures in Artsakh are still negative at the moment.
The pipeline passes through Azeri-controlled territory near Shushi. Azerbaijani troops are currently preventing repairs to the pipeline. This incident followed an intensification of pressure by Azerbaijan on the frontline and cross-border incidents in the last few days and one Armenian soldier has been killed. Azerbaijan also has several trucks now circulating near populated areas blaring out recorded messages intimidating the Armenian population so that they leave.

Is the Diaspora mature and ready to take responsibility, and structured to recognize its resources, which could have an impact on decision-makers and media?
Please do share with us any initiative that you might be taking to inform people in the community and national decision-makers.
