YEREVAN /ARKA/. At its session on Monday, the National Assembly of Armenia approved the ratification of the Treaty on the Procedure for Orga- nizing and Implementing International Controlled Deliveries by Competent Authorities of the CIS Countries. Armenian Deputy Minister of In- ternal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan stated that the draft aims to enhance coopera- tion between law enforcement agen- cies of the CIS countries in combat- ing transnational crime by addressing modern challenges and threats. “The treaty envisages the adoption of effective measures to combat crimes related to the illegal movement of con- trolled objects across state borders, such as drugs, weapons, cultural, his- torical, and artistic treasures, and other items, as well as the improvement of existing legal mechanisms for cooper- ation between the competent authori- ties of the CIS countries,” Ghazaryan noted.
