YEREVAN /ARKA/. Ar- menia has repeatedly reaf- firmed its commitment to continuing mutually benefi- cial cooperation within the framework of the EAEU, stated Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. “This cooperation aims to strengthen economic stabili- ty and ensure the sustainable development of the broader region. I am confident that today’s meeting will provide another opportunity for an open and constructive ex- change of views on pressing issues,” Pashinyan noted while speaking on Friday at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held via videoconference. On the “Crossroads of Peace” and TRIPP projects The Prime Minister stat- ed that Armenia is consis- tently advancing an agenda of peace and trade-transport connectivity in the region. “As has been noted re- peatedly, the Armenian ‘Crossroads of Peace’ ini- tiative aims to create new opportunities through the development of transport, energy, and digital connec- tivity. One of the key com- ponents of the ‘Crossroads of Peace’ is TRIPP. The TRIPP project will establish a direct railway link between Armenia and Azerbaijan. At the same time, the project will enable Armenia’s inte- gration into the international railway network and create the possibility of establish- ing a railway connection be- tween the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea,” Pashinyan said. The Prime Minister stated that this would be a land- mark event in the sphere of transport links—a trans- formative development for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Geor- gia, and Iran. “During the restricted-format meeting, I briefed my colleagues on certain nuances regarding the process of unblocking regional transport links—a process resulting from the establishment of peace be- tween Armenia and Azerbai- jan,” Pashinyan emphasized. He expressed hope that decisions would be adopt- ed that would, among other things, enhance the effi- ciency of the Republic of Armenia’s railway system. “Undoubtedly, ensuring the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor is the foundation for the full functioning of the EAEU common market. At the same time, the practical im- plementation of these principles continues to require our special attention,” the Arme- nian Prime Minister noted. On restrictions regard- ing the export of Armenian products The Prime Minister not- ed with regret that, since his previous participation in the Intergovernmental Council meeting in Cholpon-Ata, no significant progress had been achieved on a number of outstanding issues. “In particular, restrictions and administrative barriers persist, significantly hin- dering the full and effective functioning of the common market. In this regard, we consider it important to con- tinue a constructive dialogue aimed at removing existing obstacles to the export and transit of Armenian prod- ucts, in accordance with EAEU law,” Pashinyan con- cluded. Pashinyan expressed con- fidence that consistent prog- ress in this direction serves the interests of all EAEU member states by ensuring stable trade flows, predict- able conditions for market participants, and the further strengthening of economic cooperation.
