YEREVAN — Armenia’s Minister of High-Tech In- dustry and Artificial Intel- ligence, Davit Tadevosyan, has described as “politi- cized” an assessment aired by Russian television chan- nel Vesti regarding the po- tential use of the Firebird AI center in Hrazdan for intelli- gence purposes. “I think it is a politicized assessment,” Tadevosyan told reporters. Asked whether the center could potentially be used for intelligence purposes, the minister responded with an analogy involving automo- biles, noting that a vehicle can also be used to commit a crime, but that does not con- stitute grounds for prohibit- ing the use of automobiles. Tadevosyan invited those raising concerns about po- tential risks to submit spe- cific information to the min- istry in writing. “Any such speculation can be made, but it is po- liticized and not serious. If there are any facts, present them, and we will gladly sit down, discuss them and un- derstand the situation,” Ta- devosyan said. Asked about the extent of U.S. investment in the proj- ect, the minister said that an association of Armenian fi- nancial institutions had par- ticipated in financing it.
